Greg's iconic 1975 Christmas video, painstakingly remade frame-by-frame in 2019 from YouTube sources and dedicated to the memory of a great musician. Unlike the official 2020 restoration, the war footage is absent, so the soundtrack is remixed shorter to fit, a blend of an mp3 purchased online and the original 7-inch vinyl single. This copy-of-a-copy version lacks the crystal clarity of the newly-published 4K release, which was recently recreated from a film print, but does attempt to correct the aspect ratio (so the picture isn't squashed), minimise cropping, stabilise the up-down and left-right jitters, preserve the integrity of each frame (so there's no ghosting or mixing of frames), remove most of the scratches, smooth the artefacts, and balance the mix a little (preferring the original vinyl single to the bass-heavy mp3). It also displays without letter-boxing on 4:3 screens. Greg said "'I Believe in Father Christmas' has become something of a Christmas classic, I'm very happy to say. It's a nice thing. It brings sometimes some strange reactions, people saying it's anti-religious, when in reality it was really about objecting to the commerciality of Christmas, and trying to remind people basically that the Christmas you get you deserve. It's all about giving and the joy of giving. That was the real intention behind the song." Song written and produced by Greg Lake and Peter Sinfield, orchestration by Godfrey Salmon, featuring the London Philharmonic Orchestra and The King's Singers.
