On this occasion the water of the 3 lakes was so still that it mirrored the mountains behind. This is very unusual. The three lakes are, Black Lake, Cushvalley Lake & Augher Lake, with the latter featuring as the mirror in this video. The two large stones shown in the still above are known locally as The Two Hags. It is at this point that the Gap road is at its steepest. It will test every cyclist's strength. Kerry is certainly a treasure trove of amazing cycling routes and the Gap of Dunloe is one of its finest jewels.
