I restored this 1930s Art Deco buffet cabinet abandoned on a quiet farm, covered in flaking paint and years of neglect. In this restoration, I take you through the full process: from stripping the paint and testing for lead, to repairing broken wooden ornaments, applying stain and revealing the cabinet’s original beauty with a clear wax finish. This piece was likely made in Belgium or the Netherlands in the early 1930s, a transitional design that blends Art Deco geometry with traces of Art Nouveau craftsmanship.
