This week’s da Word Flo Session took place at Booker’s Restaurant in University City, Philadelphia. What started as a blank canvas and two hearts turned into something deeper. Two sisters joined us during the session. One expressed herself through art and painted a pair of eyes onto the canvas. The other shared her gift through writing and added the words: “God does see you wherever you are.” That moment captured the heart of this month’s word: Seen. At da Word Flo, we gather in everyday spaces to create art, share stories, and reflect on the deeper questions we carry as human beings. Each Flo Session becomes an opportunity to listen, connect, and remember that our voices, stories, and presence matter. Our work is rooted in Hebrews 13:3, which reminds us: “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them.” Through these community art experiences, the bespoke artwork created together is later turned into postcards and mailed to women who are incarcerated, along with personal letters. A simple piece of mail can communicate something powerful: You are not forgotten. You are still seen. At da Word Flo, we are committed to ending the lie of forgettability. Because God remembers. And so do we. Three ways to connect with da Word Flo: 1️⃣ Subscribe here on YouTube for a new video every Thursday. 2️⃣ Attend or host a Flo Session where we create art, share stories, and build connection in the community. 3️⃣ Join our letter-writing initiative where community-created art becomes postcards sent to women who are incarcerated. Thank you for being part of this movement. God remembers. And so do we.
