Performed: July 19, 2023 Centennial Park Amphitheater, Ellicott City, MD, USA Concert Playlist: • CBB: July 19, 2023 - Sunset Serenades Our local Howard County Recreation & Parks department runs an incredible concert series every summer, the Sunset Serenades at Centennial Park Amphitheatre. They bring in local musical acts to perform for our friends, family, and neighbors in one of the beautiful public lakes in our community as the sun goes down behind the trees and the stars come out. This year we dodged the rain that bedevilled our prior appearances with this series and enjoyed a wonderful clear evening at the lakeside. Jazz standards aren't always hits on release. Sid Wyche and Mayme Watts wrote "Alright, Okay, You Win" in 1955 and that same year saw it released by at least four major artists, including the Count Basie Orchestra, yet all failed to chart until Peggy Lee got hold of the tune in 1958, reaching number 68 on the Billboard chart and entering the musical lexicon of the midcentury songbook.
