UFO - The Paul Chapman Years: Episode One. "Taking Off - From Lone Star to UFO and back. And back!"

I'm a huge UFO fan - both the Michael Schenker and Paul Chapman era's. But Michael had left the band before I first really got into them, so it was from "No Place to Run" that I listened to them to begin with. I'm a big admirer of Paul's tenure with the band from 1979 - 1983 (and, as you'll hear in the video, his part time work prior to becoming a full band member). This is just my take on Tonka's history with the band. Hopefully reasonably accurate! I did get the date wrong for the Edinburgh show on the "No Place to Run" Tour, it was, of course, January 1980, NOT 1979. Apologies there folks. It was a great run of albums. The aforementioned "No Place to Run", "The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent", "Mechanix" and "Making Contact". All solid albums with excellent songs and musicianship. I'm chatting a bit about Skid Row and Lone Star, as well as playing a couple of riffs and listening to the period when both Michael and Paul were playing in the band together. All great stuff.
