HISTORIC DEVONSHIRE MARKET TOWN THE GREAT BLIZZARD OF 1963

The Blizzards of late December 1962 which continued into early 1963 hit the South West of England very hard leaving many villages cut off for many weeks. We take a journey from snowbound Buckfastleigh then travel back in time to 1959 and arrive at South Brent on the edge of Dartmoor and board a steam train at Brent Station bound for Kingsbridge, the journey takes us along the Avon Valley through Gara Bridge and Loddiswell arriving at Kingsbridge Station. We then journey around Kingsbridge through Devon and Dorset looking in full colour at the blizzard conditions of 1963. Narration of the 1963 Blizzard by Cliff Mitchelmore.
