Panpatia Col. trek (Part-1) up till Parvati Col.

Society for Trekking and Environmental Preservation (www.steptrekkers.org) organised this trek from 07th till 19th June 2022. Somnath Pal was the trek leader and our group consisted of 36 members - 14 participants and 24 members in support team hired from Devgram and Thang village! Panpatia Col. trek is tagged as high risk and low success rate trek but ours has been the only group in the history of Panpatia Col. trek who crossed entire 8 Kms long ice field in one day without camping overnight on the ice field. That is why, besides individual's physical stamina and positivity, the meticulous planning and its execution by a good team leader and the help of a strong support team matters a lot for the success of this kind of high altitude trek. Ishwari Prasad Bhatt from Ransi was the main guide but due to white out he forgot the way ahead in Panpatia ice field. Hari Singh Kandwal and Deepak Chauhan from Devgram village were the key persons to lead the group through Panpatia ice field.
