Renderman in Maya In this episode of Old Irix Tutorials we go over using Renderman in Maya There were many versions of Renderman in the 90s. Some ran in Softimage, some ran in Maya. Most likely used Pixar's Renderman Artist Tools (R.A.T.) which ran inside of Maya. Though there were many PRman compliant renderers created from the Renderman archetype. Larry Gritz created Blue Moon Rendering Tools which he developed while working at Pixar and then later formed his own company Exluna whose primary product was the render engine Entropy which was a Renderman Compliant Renderer. Today we'll go over how to get the MayaMan plug in working in Maya 4.0. MayaMan was meant as a user friendly front end for converting Maya scene data like geometry and lights and doing on the fly data conversion from Maya directly into the Renderman renderer (Entropy). I go over setting up the Mayaman environment from the terminal as well as setting it up in the MayaMan UI settings so that everything works as intended.
