Thursday 2nd June saw No 70 Queen Elizabeth II launched on the Severn Valley Railway. The loco known to everyone as 34027 Taw Valley has spent the first part of the year in the paint shop, with the loco being transformed for the Jubilee Celebrations. No 70 is rostered to run two round trips over the four day event for people wanting a ride behind the loco sporting its new Purple / Lilac livery, this the official colour of the Jubilee Celebrations. We catch No 70 attacking Eardington Bank on the Thursday & Friday seen here from two different angles with the loco looking and sounding great. Although this livery is up for debate and you either love it or hate it. The Thursday & Friday the loco ran with packed trains and has generated lots of interest for the loco and the railway. Which is always a good thing. No 70 will be returned to its normal BR livery and return as 34027 Taw Valley in the Autumn.
