Pedal Scopic Sounds EPISODE 28: AMC SHSL Preamp & Filter (Effect used on Guitar, Bass, & Vocals) WATCH PART 1 HERE: • Analog Music Company The Evil Pumpkin Ghaz... This demo has been coming longer than any I've done before. In the process of moving countries, this pedal got stuck in limbo for ages at my old residence. When I finally got it, I was in a bit of a transitional time in life and it took me longer than I wanted to get this animated. It's been mostly finished for a few months now, as I wanted to get the updated pedal art that has changed in the embarassingly long time since Konstantin sent me this marvelous machine, so I'm eternally grateful for his patience and support. So what is the So High So Low? In simple terms, it's a preamp with high-pass and low-pass filters. Because of the way it is designed, though, it's yet another highly creative machine with heaps of creative possibilities. On its own, it's a highly tweakable tone machine, capable of producing nearly any range of filtered grit your little heart might desire, but activate either (or both) of the expression jacks, and suddenly you have a wild range of modulation, wah, and noise effects at your disposal. While this video is nearly 10 minutes long, you could easily unlock a whole variety of other tones simply by trying different expression controllers. For my purposes, I used two @oldbloodnoise rampers. I had fantasized about getting the triple ramper in time to work on this one, because it has a lot more range and syncing options, but I was still blown away by the sheer range of sounds encompassed in this design. If you're lucky enough to get a chance to grab one of these machines, don't hesitate. Konstantin's machines reward patience and exploration with seemingly endless creative possibilities. Like the bones of a ghost And their chattering teeth Ever onward they float Though nobody can see Though nobody can see Nobody sees Dreams never dreamed They simply stay Forever asleep Pathways diverge Whispering words Strange and absurd Lead along, Right or wrong, Round the turn Where we find Sign after sign There to remind Us that we Are all free To decide If the dark Cold shadows are Just there to mark Where we Wandered away Far from our hearts Or to seek Some sanity There underneath That could explain Exactly what Everything means Trying to survive The smallest men alive The blind leading the blind Into the endless night Where nobody can tell The shadows from themselves Their voices from the pells Of distant ringing bells Carried on the wind Like spiders floating ballooning Colliding with the stars and moon Ignighting blazing silver light Bathing in the glow Uncertain If the winding road Is worth it If we'll ever know Our purpose Or slip out of sight Waves crash against The stones and break We heard them call From the black hole Voices warped Unrecognizable Some words slipped through Told us half truths Left us uncertain What we even knew All the hours All the miles All the million Ways to run All the places All the voices All the faces We knew once Waiting Somewhere Waiting Somewhere So high or so low Nobody really knows Together or alone Where will tomorrow go Standing on our toes We think we almost see Which way the wind blows And where it's gonna lead So low or so high But is it day or night Are those stars in the sky Or some imposter lights Leading us all astray Pretending to be guides But where they're calling us to We'll only learn in time
