A weekend trip to Sarajevo

in May 2025 we spent a weekend in Sarajevo which had been on my bucket list for some time. We took the opportunity to attend a concert by Damir Imamovic, famous Sevdah singer. Staying in an apartment in the old quarters where we had a fantastic view over the city, which meant a lot of walking steep narrow roads. Sarajevo is full of history, and the more recent one from the war has still left many scars. Friendly people, not too much tourism, a lot of green nature nearby, it is a fine place to discover by walking. We went up Mt. Trebevic by cable car and walked down again, starting at the abandoned bobsleigh track. On Saturday we took the tram to Ilidza and walked the beautiful lane to the Vrelo Bosne spring and park, back by horsecart.
