In this episode I'm heading back to the eastern Lake District hoping to make the best of quite a dodgy weather forecast. I parked up for the night near Shap and then headed over to Haweswater for a thrilling and quite surreal ride down twisty country lanes in the dark on Berta the Grom. With only a 50% chance of cloud free summits, I headed up these eastern Lakes fells with low expectations but was treated to a very special day. An appropriate way to finish off a special week. Picking up Harter Fell, Kentmere Pike, High Street and Rough Crag it was great to bag these four tops to take my English total to 71. About Rudolph’s Mountains Welcome to Rudolph’s Mountains, which records my journey to visit all the mountains in England and Wales over 2,000ft, known as the Nuttalls. They were named after John & Anne Nuttall, who researched and created the initial list of tops, and published quite excellent books on how you could visit them all. I don’t always follow their routes, as I prefer to research the route myself, but I always use their route as a starting point. Each Episode is edited down to around 30 minutes or less and then released on a Saturday at 12 noon when it’s ready. Each Episode has subtitles, as even I can’t understand what I’m saying half of the time! I don’t make any money from YouTube so any adverts you see weren’t placed there by me. Neither do I wear any sponsored clothing or equipment. I share these videos so family, friends and anyone else can enjoy my time in the hills with me and so I have a record of my adventures for the future. If you are planning to venture out on the hills yourself, please make sure you research your route and that you are properly prepared. Always check the mountain weather and ground condition forecast, but don’t trust it! Mountain weather can be unpredictable, so prepare for the worst. Enjoy the mountains, but always take care so that you return home safely. Thanks for watching. Thank you to the royalty free music providers used in this episode.
