Currently on January Sale! *** In this video, I explore how training LESS could actually help you to make MORE gains. This is a topic that seems popular on YouTube right now, with more and more people promoting “minimal” routines. I’m actually all for this, in principle. I’ve expressed recently that I think too much of YouTube fitness content is aimed only at serious bodybuilders and powerlifters. While there’s nothing wrong with this per se, this is not reflective of the majority of the population. Too many people now think they need complex bro splits or extremely intense workouts to see muscle and strength gains. That’s just not true. If your aims are modest - to put on some muscle and gain some strength - you can do this with one exercise per body part. You might even be able to train multiple muscle groups with a single exercise (dips being great for pecs AND triceps, for example). This is also great for those that want to be more all-round athletic, as I do. If you want to improve mobility, endurance, and skill, then you can’t spend hours and hours at the gym each week. You need to be more efficient. And you might even find that training less helps you see greater results - as you’ll have more time to recover between workouts meaning you hit each new lift feeling fresh. For me, this isn’t about training less often; it’s about training with shorter workouts that do just enough to stimulate all the muscles and every major movement pattern. That’s what I’ve been doing for this past year - often strength training just 4 times a week with sessions lasting 30-40 minutes. And my results have actually been better than when I was trying before. Why not give it a try? And what do you guys think? Do you notice a change for the better or worse when you reduce your total training time?
