Bilge pumps - the big test! | SVB

In this video, we put 10 bilge pumps through their paces. The conditions: Reach a discharge head of exactly one metre and measure the time needed to pump 50 litres of water. 📌 Short description: Small amounts of water can accidentally get on board through condensation, small leaks or water connections that are not completely sealed. To pump out unwanted water as quickly as possible, electric bilge pumps can be used. Generally speaking, a bilge pump is a must on every boat, because in the event of an unexpected leak, an electric bilge pump ensures a high level of safety. 📌 Chapters and content: 0:00 – Intro 0:17 – Float switch vs. external switch 0:42 – Connection and accessories 1:02 – The big test 1:48 – RULE – LP900S bilge pump 2:13 – RULE – 1100 GPH bilge pump 2:37 – WHALE – bilge pump Supersup Smart 1100 3:00 – ATTWOOD – SAHARA 1100 bilge pump 3:24 – ATTWOOD – TSUNAMI T1200 bilge pump 3:46 – MARCO – UP1000 bilge pump 4:05 – JOHNSON PUMP - L650 bilge pump 4:24 – JOHNSON PUMP – L750 Ultima Combo bilge pump 4:44 – JOHNSON PUMP – Ultima- 1000GPH bilge pump 5:02 – MATRO – cartridge-bilge pump 750 Standard 5:14 – Test results and summary 📌 Products shown in the video: Pumps RULE – Bilge pump LP900S: https://www.svb24.com/product/505771 RULE – Bilge pump 1100: https://www.svb24.com/product/509247 WHALE – Bilge pump SUPERSUP SMART 1100: https://www.svb24.com/product/514933 ATWOOD – Bilge pump SAHARA 1100: https://www.svb24.com/product/514874 ATTWOOD – Bilge pump T1200: https://www.svb24.com/product/514876 MARCO – Bilge pump UP1000: https://www.svb24.com/product/515247 JOHNSON PUMP – Bilge pump L650: https://www.svb24.com/product/512499 JOHNSON PUMP – Bilge pump L750 Ultima Combo: https://www.svb24.com/product/514932 JOHNSON PUMP – Ultima-Bilge pump 1000GPH: https://www.svb24.com/product/512504 MATRO – Bilge pump 750 Standard: https://www.svb24.com/product/515099 Accessories Steel Wire Reinforced PVC Hose: https://www.svb24.com/product/505 Stainless Steel Hose Clamps: https://www.svb24.com/product/511 Waterproof Cable Connector, 2-pin: https://www.svb24.com/product/511358 📌 Our complete range of bilge pumps: https://www.svb24.com/category/12485 📌 You might also be interested in these videos: Everything you need to know about life jackets:    • Everything you need to know about lif...   NMEA2000 Tutorial:    • Everything you need to know about NME...   Removing antifouling – grinding, stripping & scraping comparison:    • Removing Antifouling | Tutorial | SVB   Applying antifouling – step by step guide:    • Applying Antifouling | Tutorial | SVB   Radar on board:    • Radar on board - Doppler Radar | SVB   ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ 👋 Subscribe to our channel to get more tutorials and other hints and tips:    / @svbteam   📰 Subscribe to our newsletter and never miss news and special offers about boats again: https://www.svb24.com/news-letter ⛵️ Keep up to date - Follow us on Facebook and Instagram:   / svb.de     / svb24_com   ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ 💡 Float switch vs. manual switch Some bilge pumps feature a float or contact switch, automatically detect the current water level and switch the pump on and off by themselves. The float switch can be located outside or inside the pump. Other bilge pumps are operated via an external switch. 💡 Connection and accessories The following accessories are required to connect a bilge pump correctly: - A sturdy hose that does not contract under certain pressure - Suitable hose clamps to connect the hose to the bilge pump - An appropriate fuse fitted in the positive line - A watertight cable connection to prevent possible corrosion 💡 Quick tip In addition to general power output, the size of the hose diameter also matters. The larger the hose diameter, the higher the pumping capacity. #BilgePumps #Test #SVB
