A Sheffield Supertram "Tram Train", trams which can share part of the national rail network with trains, can also be seen coming from the Parkgate shopping area in this video just after it left Rotherham Central, providing the 20-minute-interval service between Parkgate and Cathedral tram stop in Sheffield. This short line the level crossing is on connects the Wakefield Line at Holmes Junction with Rotherham Central station, a station which retains the 'Central' part of its name despite being the town's only station. About four services an hour typically use this part of the line to serve the station. This location is quite secluded, but there is a canal with a path right next to the crossing, and the "Steel Henge" - a local tourist attraction, can be seen from here too. Brinsworth Street only accesses a canal-side car park, a few properties, and a lineside substation for the Supertram, and felt eerily quiet at this time on a Sunday. There are as many as six LED wigwags here due to the clutter and road layout on one side, and three of the four barriers are quite long, needing supporter arms. All factors merged together and coupled to the tight railway curves make for quite a cool crossing to film at. Train details sourced from: Real Time Trains: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/sear...
