It's two stops on the train from Shinjuku to Harajuku, but, as is often the case in Tokyo, you can also walk. If you take the most direct route, it's 2km / 1.3 miles, and takes about half an hour. You can walk through Meiji Jingu Shrine, which is really peaceful and relaxing. We start off at the Hotel Gracery in Shinjuku, so you can see what Kabukicho's like in the daytime (even though it's the "bad area" of Tokyo, it's perfectly safe to walk around in - just ignore the touts at night, and don't go into any dodgy bars!). See how the feel of the streets changes as we go through Shinjuku, then quieter Yoyogi, into Meiji Jingu Shrine and end at Harajuku Station.
