Kallithea gyroplane on a cross-country flight from KWHP to KPOC on a beautiful So. Cal. afternoon...

The weather was too good to stay on the ground on this gorgeous afternoon in mid-May 2022. I decided to take Hummingbird to stritch her wings and visit a good friend in the process. OUr destination was Bracket Airport (KPOC). The fligh there is about 40 minutes, and the surreounding are familiar, so all indications were this would be a fantastic afternoon outing. Departed Whiteman airport over the "four stacks" on my way through the Charlie airspace of Burbank airport. The transition is fairly easy, but you should pay attention to the tower since there are aircraft constantly on teh move around this busy airport. I followed teh "210" freeway to the East, and before too long I was talking to El Monte tower asking them for transition through the northern edge of their airspace. Easy-peasy... Since I was approaching the Brackett airport from the West-North-West, the most natural runway for landing would be the north runway, Rwy. 26R, so I had to ask to be switched to teh south runway (Rwy 26L) which was closer to my dstination. The airport weas not busy, so the switch request was granted by the very accomodating tower. ................. The gyroplane brings you close to the action, at the fraction of the cost of a helicopter.
