It’s really easy to help protect against dog fleas and ticks when you know how and you only need to do it every four weeks. Not quite sure how to apply FRONTLINE® Plus to your dog? Then you’ll love this video where Veterinary Surgeon Sioned along with pet owner Rowena and her dog, Faith, show you step-by-step how to do just that. Before buying FRONTLINE® Plus, you need to weigh your dog and make sure you choose the correct size pipette for your dog’s weight. This is important so your dog receives the optimum dose of product. Then thoroughly read the instructions before applying. There are 5 simple steps to follow: 1. First check your dog and if he or she has any signs of skin lesions or looks unwell, consult your vet before applying. Apply away from any soft furnishings and varnished or painted surfaces – you don’t want to risk staining them! 2. Take off your dog’s collar. Holding the pipette upright and facing away from you, flick the neck so the product goes into the main body of the pipette and snap it open along the score line. 3. You need to apply the product at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades – a place where your pet can’t reach or lick it. 4. Part the fur until you can see the skin and place the tip of the pipette directly on the skin, and gently squeeze. It’s very important to apply it to the skin as it is taken up by the skin and mixes with the pet’s natural oils and then distributed over the whole body. 5. Now, don’t touch the application area until it’s dry. And wait 2 days before bathing Faith or letting her swim. FRONTLINE® Plus kills ticks within 48 hours and fleas within 24 hours by making them hyperactive so fleas will be more visible when dying. So if you see active fleas, don’t be alarmed - it is a sign the product is working. Remember to treat all dogs and cats in the household with FRONTLINE® Plus every four weeks throughout the year to help protect them from fleas and ticks.
