Some sources say the lyrics are originally a poem by the Icelandic Viking/skald Egill Skallagrímsson (904 - 995). The poem appeared in the Netflix series Vikings (Harald and Halfdan Song). In 2019, Perły i Łotry made an acapella cover for the song that is the most famous version today (Assassins Creed Valhalla). After that, a lot of people/bands made various versions including Voiceplay, Matt Heafy, Peyton Parrish, Saltatio Mortis and Tomi P. In my cover, for sure, there's some influence of other versions but I also tried to be unique, and put my own creativity in it. For those interested, I used subharmonics, low chest voice, chest-fry and some kind of growl technique for the low parts.
