Controlling Space & Connection • Tai Otoshi, Uchi Mata, & Kibisu Gaeshi | Modern Japanese Jiu-Jitsu

February 2021 Black belt class at the Jukido Academy in Palm Coast, Florida. Instruction by George Rego Sensei (jujutsu godan / karate sandan - Florida Chief Instructor and IKA National Jukido Jujitsu Director. Emphasis in this masterclass was controlling the spacial relationship through precise pressures of connection (kumi-kata) that aren't often clearly verbally articulated. Bringing this notion to the forefront of the mind as opposed to staying in a disorganized concept in the subconscious mind of the experienced Jukidoka. Although the concepts are relevant to nearly all techniques -- this black belt class used a few select throwing techniques (nage-waza) to explore the concepts & connections between them. Specifically three techniques were selected: Tai Otoshi (body drop), Uchi Mata (inner thigh throw), and Kibisu Gaeshi (heel trip reversal). Thank you to Mr. John Sanfilippo (who is still battling lingering lung pressure due to COVID-19) and Mr. Roland Garner for recording.
