Welcome to the Newson Gale Earth-Rite® MULTIPOINT II product overview video – our multi-channel static ground monitoring system for processing operations that can generate large quantities of electrostatic charge via the movement of product. Where processes include many metal parts, such as a sieve or fluid bed dryer, there is significant risk that a part may become isolated due to vibration or movement, or that repeat cleaning and reassembly my cause a forgotten or lost ground connection. The MULTIPOINT II utilises an Ex ‘ia’ monitoring signal to safely monitor the ground path of up to eight metal parts being monitored has a connection back to the local verified ground bar to 10 ohms or less. The monitoring panel is stainless steel and Ex ‘ia’ and can be installed in a zone 0/20 – Class 1.2.3 Division 1 area local to the process and ground bar. Connection to the process is via a local marshalling box and single core cable to each part being monitored. The MULTIPOINT II will then verify if each of the parts being monitored has a connection back to the local verified ground bar to 10 ohms or less, meeting with the recommendations of IEC 60079-32-1 and NFPA 77. Visual indication is provided on the monitoring panel for each channel by clear high intensity GREEN / RED, GO / NO-GO LEDs enabling the operator to quickly identify if all parts are grounded or identify which parts has lost a good ground path. In addition to monitoring the ground path of a single process with multiple parts, the MULTIPOINT II can also be utilised to monitor up to eight separate components, for example eight drums by adding 2-pole clamps, cables and local junction boxes incorporating a clamp stowage point. Alternatively, the MULTIPOINT II can be supplied with remote indicator stations which allow for local visual indication at each location and is available in stainless steel or GRP enclosures and provides a high intensity flashing GREEN LED GO or continuous RED LED NO-GO indication for the operator.
