When Brandi Mitchell isn’t out on the field playing 40+ recreational women’s soccer at local parks in San Diego, she is bringing together women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s for special events and media opportunities. She creates training sessions and tournaments for them around the world, gently coerces them into group photos, and connects them to a global audience through her online presence and her in-person appearances as “San Diego Soccer Women.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
