Chapchar Kut 2026 Aizawl | Mizoram’s Biggest Festival Turned Into Storm 🌧️ | Live Performances In this vlog we visit the famous Chapchar Kut 2026, the biggest festival of Mizoram, celebrated in Aizawl at Lammual Ground. We travel by bus to the festival and the whole city is full of excitement and a huge crowd because Chapchar Kut is one of the most important cultural celebrations of Mizoram. After entering the ground, we enjoy the beautiful music and performances in the Mizo language. Even though we don’t understand the language, the energy and music make the festival very enjoyable. On the stage we also see a fun performance that looks like Yak dancing, which reminds us of traditional performances from Sikkim. My son Parv enjoys it so much that he sits on his dad’s shoulders to see the stage because the crowd is huge. We also click photos with people wearing beautiful Mizo traditional dresses and experience the amazing culture of Mizoram. Suddenly the weather changes and a strong storm with heavy rain starts. The bright festival atmosphere quickly turns dark as people run to find shelter. We sit in the Urban Development seating area while thunder and rain create a little scary but unforgettable moment. Even in the rain, the crowd remains cheerful and positive. One man even dances in the rain which makes everyone smile. After some time the rain becomes lighter and the program starts again with singing and dancing performances. The crowd gathers again and continues enjoying the festival spirit. We arrive a little late so we miss some traditional dances, but the night before in Kulikawn area we watch boys and girls performing traditional dances in beautiful costumes which we also record in this vlog. My son Parv and I wear black and white outfits because that was the dress code of the day. Even though we don’t have traditional Mizo dress, we try to match the theme and enjoy the festival as a family. Before leaving, some Urban Development staff distribute sweets which makes the day even more special. This vlog captures the culture, music, crowd, storm and unforgettable moments of Chapchar Kut 2026 in Aizawl. It is truly an amazing experience for our family.
