This is a good start on finding out about Alpine Linux: Initial release: August 2005 Alpine Linux is a security-oriented, lightweight Linux distribution based on musl libc and Busybox. APK: In the context of Alpine Linux, "APK" stands for Alpine Package Keeper. Developers: https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Alp... Founder: Natanael Copa is the founder of Alpine Linux. He mentioned the name might have been chosen as a backronym for "A Linux-Powered Network Engine" or similar, but the exact phrase is no longer recalled. :D ######################################################### Homepage: https://www.alpinelinux.org/ https://www.alpinelinux.org/downloads/ https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Mai... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_... https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Ins... https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Ins... It helps users find relevant documentation when they don't know the exact command name. Integration with mandoc: The mandoc-apropos package works with the mandoc documentation system to provide a complete solution for accessing and searching manual pages on Alpine Linux. ############################################# I have already installed Alpine on the Dell MT7010 using a SSD. Blazingly fast and so far no hiccups. Thoroughly enjoyed using Alpine and I think you will too... I upgraded the version and the branch on the Dell sff7010 with HDD. All went well and will be shown on the next Alpine video. If you like Arch Linux you should get along well with Alpine. No systemd for the init system. Uses musl instead of Glibc. This will be a problem for installing Oracles Virtualbox. However, boxes and virt-manager both work like they are supposed to. Thanks for watching I'll be Archin' on.
