His voice is warm. His presence is as soft as velvet. We talk one morning shortly before the concert in Sofia. Antonio Forcione is an Italian from the South. He learned to play guitar as a child on his own with the help of the local barber and much, much practice. At the age of 11, he performed Italian folk music with his two uncles playing accordion and mandolin. At 13, he was earning pocket money, touring festivals around Italy with his brother and a few friends. He studied fine arts and sculpture at the Art Institute of Ancona. He also studied percussion and pantomime. He performed as a street musician in London and two months later won an award which earned him a part in a BBC television show and an extensive European tour as a support act for Barkley James Harvest, culminating in a concert at Wembley. A contract with Virgin Records followed. And here he is - 21 albums later, having supported Phil Collins, Bobby McFerrin and Zucchero. He's played on the same stage and recorded with Angelique Kidjo, Sarah Jane Morris, Arkanhel and The Bulgarian Voices choir. He is the Musical Director of the Edinburgh Festival's musical comedy show Olé, creator of the popular duo Acoustic Mania with award winning guitar virtuoso Neil Stacey, nicknamed the 'Jimi Hendrix of the acoustic guitar'. He mixes jazz, Spanish, Brazilian and African music and soul. The Guardian called him "one of the greatest acoustic guitarists". It turns out that he and Jenk Erdogan first met 21 years before they recorded The Storytellers album. #vo #PavelVladimirov #100%budni @BulgarianNationalTelevision #music #acousticguitar #AntonioForcione #Videoeditor #MilenKozov
