CN Test Train

The CN test train recently added an Amtrak Superliner Sleeper to its consist. It travelled across Canada and is seen passing Windsor Junction Nova Scotia early on the morning of 26 April 2016 powered by CN DASH 8-40CW 2197 (ex BNSF) and F40PH 105 (ex Amtrak) in Agawa Canyon Train Tour livery. At Rockingham Yards 2197 was detached and #998 proceeded to the balloon track at Halterm where the train was turned. Meanwhile 2197 was turned on the turntable at Fairview Maintenance Shops - presumably six axle power cannot be turned at Halterm. The two loco were reunited at Rockingham and became train #999. They travelled to Windsor Junction and the backed down the Dartmouth Subdivision to Dartmouth Yards. Here 2197 was detached (possibly because of weight concerns on the small wooden bridge over the entrance to the Shubenacadie Canal) and 105 backed the train to Mile 16.49 at Shearwater. The train then returned to Dartmouth Yards where 2197 was again reattached before the train headed for Moncton NB.
