Day 79: my fourth day backpacking the Abel Tasman Coast Track, one of New Zealand's Great Walks on the South Island. From Awaroa Hut to Whariwharangi Hut, the most northern Great Walk Hut on the Abel Tasman Track. After a mandatory low tide crossing, I hiked over to Tōtaranui and on to the Gibbs Hill Track. I chose this side track off the Abel Tasman so that I could do a loop instead of an out-and-back trail to get to the hut, and I'm so glad I did. The views were incredible from up there (even though the Gibbs Hill summit is treed in).
