If you want to check out a box fan that was pretty popular in Indonesia in the '90s and early 2000s, this is the video for you. It has a classic box design, slim body, six blades, comes in a bunch of colors, and performs really well. This classic design was originally used by the Matsushita brand which was eventually used by Maspion and other brands such as Cosmos, Regency, Sapporo, and others. This one is the Maspion JF-215T, released in 2001, with blue and yellow accents. My cousin had the same model, but with blue accents and white blades. Honestly, I thought this fan would look the same before unboxing it, but it turned out even cooler with the yellow accents. I didn’t realize that until I opened it since I asked the seller to keep the seal intact. Speaking of the seal, it’s interesting because it still has the old Maspion logo (which looks like the National logo), while the body and box already have the new "Maspion Petir" logo. I guess that makes sense since 2001 was when they changed the logo, so they probably still had some old ones lying around. When I first got the fan, I had pretty high hopes because older Maspion fans had more solid, premium materials. But this one feels cheaper. The plastic isn’t neatly cut, and it feels kind of light and hollow, like a budget fan. But performance-wise, it’s still a beast. Even on the lowest speed, it spins fast, which makes it a bit noisy and overpowered. The only downside is that the louver system uses rubber instead of gears, so over time, the rubber might wear out if you use it a lot. All that said, I’m still happy with it. It’s slim, lightweight, easy to move around, but still packs a punch and should last a long time.
