Thousands of protesters flooded the streets of New York on Friday as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly. The demonstration, organised near UN headquarters, was marked by chants denouncing Netanyahu as a war criminal and calling for his arrest. Protesters cited the International Criminal Court’s warrant against the Israeli leader and criticised US officials, including Donald Trump, for hosting him on American soil. “He belongs in The Hague, not in New York City,” one protester told Middle East Eye.
