Why is it that those who succeed and those who are fulfilled have often suffered in some way? It could be grief, trauma, pain, or any challenge which caused them to take responsibility and seek a better life. In their very open and honest talk Penny and her daughter, Hannah, share their own traumatic incidents and how the shock seemed to be the catalyst for taking control of their lives. Now they ask if we can find a way to create this transformation without having to experience the pain first. In 2018 Hannah was on a very normal path for a well-educated Farnham girl: she had graduated in Law in 2014 and started a graduate job in Digital and Innovation Consulting at Accenture. However, she found herself totally unfulfilled and lost. In 2016, whilst on holiday with friends, she was kidnapped and raped. This catapulted her into a 3-year journey of healing and discovery culminating in a year living in Bali deeply studying success and the mind. In 2019 Hannah returned to Farnham, healed and ready to support others to find fulfilment and move into a mindset of success, starting with taking personal responsibility for their futures. Penny is a wife, mother of 3 and business woman. For 20 years Penny has been encouraging business people to live a life that they are in control of and one that brings them a deep sense of happiness. In 2017, Penny experienced a shocking trauma which forced her to step back and examine the way she was managing herself and to acknowledge her emotional vulnerabilities. This resulted in a deep sense of self-awareness and, for the first time, a feeling of being in control of her life. in 2014 Penny was awarded an OBE for services to business and in 2018 published her book "Business is Personal". Penny believes that we should all take responsibility for our Mental Fitness. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
