This is very Authentic and most loved Konkani Recipe by all Konkani Speaking People. Very simple and easy to prepare and do not require much oil. It is pan fried and is very tasty and goes very well with "Daali Toi" (Dal Curry /Rice/Pickle) which is one of the very authentic konkani dinner/lunch speciality. To make this recipe, cut the potatoes to medium thickness or bit thick in size. If the slices are too thin then the phodis will turn hard and wont taste like phodis and they will taste like chips :) Ingredients: -------------- 2 Big size potatoes 2 table spoon Rava (sooji) Red Chilli powder 1 tea spoon Turmeric Powder 1/4 tea spoon Optional: Hing or Jeera Powder Oil to fry Salt as per taste Method: ------- Slice potatoes into round pieces Mix these potato slice with red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt as per taste [Optional: Hing or Jeera powder] Heat a pan, apply some oil all over the pan. Now dip the potato slice in Rava (sooji) and put it on the hot pan Do this for all the slices and put some oil on top of all the slices on the pan and close the lid for the potatoes to cook properly Once it is cooked from one side, invert them on other side and put some oil again if required Keep checking every 5 to 10 min if the potatoes have cooked properly or not from both sides. Serve them hot with rice and dal or toi with pickle.
