Chaney liked to fish the lakes in the back-country outside the town of Big Pine. So, he had this place built away from civilization in the middle of a forest near the North Fork of Big Pine Creek. The cabin is now owned by the forest service. Rangers can live here or use it for a storage shed during the summer season.
