Here more footage of costume football, played throughout Europe in the 1970s. Not all the footballs (soccer balls) used in these fun and friendly games were rubber, but the majority of them were. Many of the footballs were so worn, some barely held air. Europeans take football very seriously, and when it came down to the ball, they did not want to use cheap junky balls, like what we had in the 1970s. I'm referring mainly about rubber footballs they used. Most of the rubber footballs used, were made of premium, soft polyurethane rubber with a latex bladder. This combination made the ball very responsive for better control, but sacrificed on durability. For the most part, football clubs used any ball, till they couldn't use it anymore, and this applied to PU rubber footballs as well.. Costume football/soccer was very common in the 1970s throughout Europe, and was an annual event with most festivals. Most of the footballs used were black and white PU rubber, and to say they got used and kicked, was an understatement. Most of the footballs either came from local schools or were already badly worn from being used in local football club matches. Again, some were so worn, they barely held air, yet they were used in these type of games. Most players wore football boots with there costume, but a few players wore any footwear they wanted. Lastly, I would pay ((a huge amount)) to anyone who had a ball that was used in these types of games or used in football clubs in Europe, a crazy amount of money. I do not care if the ball is flat and badly worn. Even if it was damaged in these sort of games, I'd still want it. Those old PU rubber footballs (soccer balls) are not trash to me, and I will take as many as I can find. The more worn, the more I would offer for it. It's not trash!!! Folks, don't throw away those old, flat "game used" rubber footballs. Consider selling them on a marketplace. Cheers to all, and I hope to hear back from anyone who might have one. Take care everyone!!
