In this week’s Learn. Teach. Lead. Friday Debrief, Jeanine and Robyn reflect on the impact of their GROW PLC, where teachers spent six months studying student work and refining instruction using the GROW framework: Gather, Refocus, Organize, and Watch. Robyn and Jeanine share how analyzing student writing led to the development and refinement of the ICE-T writing structure (Intro, Cite, Explain, Final Thoughts). By adding deeper thinking prompts like the 3 MMMs — Make it your own, What does it mean, and Why does it matter — and later introducing a 4th M: focus on the Message, students strengthened the depth of their written responses. The episode highlights how small, targeted instructional refinements, supported by thoughtful data analysis and AI tools, can lead to meaningful growth in student learning. The Power Move of the Week encourages teachers to collaborate vertically with colleagues across grade levels to align instructional frameworks and deepen student thinking over time.
