It's been estimated that 80-85% of all golfers struggle with the slice. While some are able to hit it a bit straighter with their irons, when you put the driver in their hands, the big bad slice rears its ugly head. In order to stop slicing the driver, you'll need to understand a couple of concepts... the ball flight laws and the swing plane. A slice is caused by a club face that is open to the swing path. The typical right handed slicer hits a slice that starts to the left and then curves to the right. The swing path for this type of shot is coming in to the ball from outside the target line, the shaft angle is too steep, and the club face is open to that path. It is virtually impossible to release the club properly when your swing plane in the down swhing is too far outside in and the shaft angle is too steep. Therefore, you have to work on fixing your swing plane. I provide a couple different drills to get the feel of a better swing plane. These are exaggerations of what you need to feel to improve your swing. Then you'll need to find the happy place in the middle. https://www.scottcolegolf.com
