Biography: Dr. Nathaniel Jones III, Ph.D., is a seasoned higher‑education executive whose career spans more than two decades of leadership, strategic planning, and student‑centered innovation. He currently serves as the Vice President of Student Services at Los Angeles Mission College, where he leads initiatives that advance student success, equity, and holistic support. Dr. Jones previously served as President of the College of Alameda, where he guided institutional planning, fiscal stewardship, and community partnerships. His appointment was celebrated across the Peralta Community College District, recognizing his deep experience and commitment to educational excellence. In addition to his campus leadership roles, Dr. Jones contributes to the broader landscape of higher education as a Commissioner for the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Elected as a Higher Education Finance member, he supports accreditation processes that uphold quality and equitable access across the California Community Colleges system. Beyond his administrative work, Dr. Jones is the President of Jones Consulting Inc., a firm he has led for more than two decades. His consulting practice focuses on organizational strategy, resource management, and institutional effectiveness, drawing on his extensive background in finance, research, and higher‑education operations. Dr. Jones’s career includes additional leadership positions such as Vice President of Business Services at Moreno Valley College and Assistant Dean & Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the University of California, Riverside. He also brings academic experience from his time as an Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College. He holds a Ph.D in Health Policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and an MBA from Loyola University Maryland, grounding his leadership in both analytical rigor and mission‑driven service. Across every role, Dr. Jones is recognized for his commitment to equity, student achievement, and the transformative power of community colleges. Professor Silvester Henderson Biography: Professor Silvester Carl Henderson is a nationally recognized educator, artistic leader, and community advocate whose work spans higher education, gospel music, and entrepreneurial success. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2023 Gospel Music Legacy Award, the A2MEND Educational Leadership Award (2020), and the Albert Nelson Marquis Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award (2019). A respected professor, motivational speaker, musician, conductor, and internet radio personality, Professor Henderson has built a distinguished career promoting educational access, cultural expression, and community empowerment. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC), where he was recently re‑elected. As Chair of the Part‑Time Committee and Emeritus Chair of the Equity, Diversity & Action Committee, he advocates for faculty diversity, Foster Youth, Incarcerated Students, and African American male achievement. Professor Henderson’s artistic and educational leadership has earned widespread recognition. He was inducted into the 2017 Pittsburg Entertainment and Arts Hall of Fame, received a Gospel Music Academy Award for advancing higher education through gospel music, and was honored by the 35th Academy of Gospel Music Awards (2006) for Sacred Choral Music. His work has been featured in AOL’s Patch Online and the *San Francisco Chronicle, which profiled his dual success in music and real estate under the headline “Mr. Gospel lifted by Music, Investments and Houses.” An accomplished academic, Professor Henderson earned both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees from San Francisco State University, where he later taught piano and music theory. He was named Professor of the Year (2012–2013) by the Los Medanos College Academic Senate and was a Quarterfinalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award (2014). Professor Henderson resides in Stockton, California. He is the Father of daughters: Carlena, Celisse, and Charde.
