If you feel like that small poor prayer is not worth praying, pray it anyway. The lord hears the cries of his children, and is close to those who are broken hearted. Our lord wept like we do, our lord was betrayed like we have been. He understands our sorrows, and reaches out his hand to catch our tears. Our God is merciful, close to those who mourn and cry out to him. I imagine the tax collector felt ashamed to even walk into the temple. But what great faith he had, to come bodly before the lord and plead for his mercy and forgiveness. Let us never lose hope, continue in prayer no matter how poor or small, and let us call upon the lord Jesus Christ.
