Zipp have brought their pursuit of innovation from road cycling to mountain biking with the Zipp 3ZeroMoto wheels. The name gives a hint to their inspiration as the rims use a single wall design that was previously reserved for motocross bikes and cheap bikes where weight is not an issue. However, by using carbon fibre Zipp have dropped the weight and created a rim that they say is compliant enough to smooth out rough terrain and increase traction whilst still retaining lateral stiffness.
