Our very first family flight with the new M600/SLS. Breaking through the clouds in Augsburg (EDMA) one minute after take off, heading for Bolzano (LIPB) northern Italy across the Alps. We cancelled IFR ten minutes after takeoff and continued VFR at FL120 very low above the mountains and glaciers below. The spectacular scenery and a gorgeous arrival procedure with two holding circles between the mountain ranges, followed by a high speed visual approach to Bolzano airport made our first flight an unforgettable event. The M600/SLS with its 600 hp turbine, the "Emergency Autoland" capability, the 5 blage prop, the perfectly layouted GARMIN 3000 instrumentation, plus autothrottle proves to be a real sensational aircraft. Remember e.g.: our previous Piper Meridian only had a max. speed of 188 kt IAS while the M600 allows 250 kt max speed due to its brand new wing design ... Pilot: Markus Riedel
