For years, my brain treated normal life (breathing, talking, laughing, etc.) like it was dangerous. This video explains how an anxious brain turns neutral experiences into threats (and how that can be unlearned). I used to believe something was deeply wrong with my body. I tried more information, fixes, techniques, etc., and it only made things worse. In this video, I share a moment that illustrates how I now understand anxiety, chronic symptoms, and the nervous system, and why more information isn’t always the answer for an overprotective brain. While sandboarding in Dubai (something I once could only dream of doing), I realized something important: risk is not the same as danger. An anxious brain doesn’t ignore reality. It exaggerates it. And when your brain is stuck in alert mode, even neutral life can feel threatening. This video doesn’t cover extreme sports or healing hacks. It looks at why your body may feel unsafe, and how safety can be relearned. This video may resonate with you if your body feels stuck in “alert mode,” you’re hyper-aware of your breathing or sensations, you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, you’ve been told to “manage” symptoms instead of understanding them, or you want to live your life again without constantly monitoring your body. My understanding of this comes from lived experience and the work of doctors and teachers who focus on fear, conditioning, and the nervous system, including Dr. John Sarno and others who explain why symptoms persist even when nothing is structurally wrong. If this video resonates, I’d love to hear what your brain has been treating as “danger.” In many cases, I believe that your body is not permanently damaged or broken. Your subconscious mind / brain may just be trying very hard to protect you right now.
