Even with regular relationships it's normal to struggle after a relationship ends. I remember someone telling me once - what a person feels at the end of a relationship can be similiar to when losing a loved one. There's a mourning process - you have to mourn what you hoped to have what you thought you would get from the relationships, mourn the loss of the person and you have to mourn the things you thought were real but weren't - whether it's a narcissistic relationship or not. While it's normal to go through a period of time when you're trying to get yourself back together with any relationship -there are certain things that you struggle with if its a narcissistic relationship and you can stay stuck for years or decades if you don't know how to work through that.
