Projects, projects, projects 📌🖇✂️ Projects are a great way to engage learners in productive and meaningful education process and I’ve got a powerful activity for you in that context that really helps develop critical thinking and creativity 👨🎨🧑🎨 There’s a type of project I particularly like running as I work a lot with startups and corporate teams: startup pitches It also works wonders with groups of teenagers! They really get into it 👨🏽💼👩💼 As always, you'll find all our materials for English teachers on our website red.resource-education.com The idea being that the groups are going to develop a product idea from conception to marketing, selling and talking with potential investors Over a number of sessions, students in groups design their startup idea following classic leading questions such as: What problems do you solve? What pains do you alleviate? Who is your target audience? Why now? And so on I’ve already talked about the Potential Investors activity where students need to think of how they’re going to adapt their messaging to the people they are speaking with The leading question “Why now?” also inspired me to develop an activity called Historical Context 🌍 The idea is to encourage students to think of how they’d adapt their messaging to different historical contexts The product does not change whatsoever How would you sell, market or pitch your idea in the historical context of, let’s say, the Space Race The video explanation of how to run the activity is on our YouTube channel and some Historical Context cards that I use with my groups are up on my Instagram page Let me know if you’d like to see more activities for projects, or even videos on how to run projects with activities such as these 😊 Great teaching and coaching to you all 🤗
