Are you a teacher looking for guidance about how to engage with geoscience topics? EGU's Paired Teaching series is here to help! This video lesson introduces students to methane and gas hydrates, their geographical distribution, and global significance. These topics are taught through lively discussions and observation-based exercises where students work together to relate different scientific datasets to discover processes that produce methane and gas hydrates. The video lesson includes 4 video segments, 3 classroom activities, a teacher's guide (0:19:55) and downloadable maps and a list of additional online resources relevant to the topic. Lesson plan is available: https://blogs.egu.eu/geolog/files/202... EGU's Paired Teaching sample classrooms are a joint initiative by the Education Committee, which provides support for teachers of geoscience topics regardless of the format or age of the students, and the Outreach Committee who provides geoscience content for learners and for those interested in the geoscience more generally. For more information about both of these committees, and the volunteers who run them, please visit: https://www.egu.eu/structure/committe...
