Young Ringer's Outing to Bristol

On Saturday 19 October 2013, members of the Young Bellringer's Facebook Group invaded Bristol for an outing, organised by myself. We started at SS Philip & Jacob, commonly known as Pip 'n' Jay, a colourful 8 by Bilbie and L&J. We then headed onto two very contrasting twelves at Redcliffe and St Stephen's either side of lunch, although I did not film anything from either of these! The rather unique ten at Christ Church soon followed; these get a lot of negative press in Bristol but I rather like them, they are by no means a particularly good ring but they have character, especially the quirky 6th, and aren't too hard to get decent ringing on either! St James were the last tower of the day, heavy, inaudible and rarely rung; only a short snippet here before my camera died! A good 8 with two rubbish trebles from what I could hear of them! Thanks to all those who came, was a thoroughly enjoyable day :-)
