Honduras has historically held a reputation for being one of the most dangerous countries to travel to in the Americas. However, in recent years, a lot has changed. Is Honduras still the violent, corrupt country it used to be? We decided to see for ourselves. As part of the Pan-American road trip, which started in Canada, Honduras would be the 6th country for the truck. Initially planning to spend a few weeks on our way to Nicaragua, a change of plans would force us to loop around the country, going from the northern border to the Caribbean coast, the southern border, and all the way to the Pacific. If you're planning on travelling to Honduras you can definitely make a much more streamlined and optimized trip, for us, it was sort of thrown in our lap and we went with it. Overlanding in general is tough in this country, and camping is almost non-existent. But the coffee is good, the people are kind, and there is ample opportunity for some off-road action and wildlife spotting.
