No commentary gameplay only longplay of the roguelike deckbuilder game demo, Talespinner. If I'd realized I was going to win this boss battle, I would have turned on the microphone. But I sincerely expected that the Boss was going to defeat - as usual. So all I have is this. I think it mostly came down to a growing familiarity with some of the base math of the "Fury" currency that comes with this character. Having a larger hand of cards that can be "channeled" to gain Fury for the next turn was a strategy that I had to figure out over the course of three or four runs. Running defense for a turn while building up a resource is a recurring tactics across a lot of the deckbuilders that I am playing. Probably not something that is news to anyone who plays these games regularly, but it took me a while to learn :) For this Boss Battle in particular, it is vital to play an "frozen" card as soon as possible or it will become unplayable for the rest of the battle. In a way, that made the decision-making easier. I just had to let go of any plans I had for that hand and work within that parameter, even if it meant losing a chance to strike. Watching back, I spotted more than a couple times that I missed playing an obvious high value card. Not sure what I was thinking. I also need to learn to play the buff cards that increase my strength at the beginning of the hand instead of the end. Buffs don't often carry from hand to hand.
