The majority of my interviews have been with members of the D’Oyly Carte who were on stage so it is always interesting to speak to people who were “behind the scenes” to get their viewpoint of life in The Company. This discussion is with Paul Seeley who joined The Company in 1976 as part of the music staff but also undertook a variety of management roles with them until the closure in 1982. This is part of a series of interviews and talks with former members of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company giving their memories of being on tour for 48 weeks a year. The purpose of this “not for profit” project is to ensure that personal memories of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company are not forgotten or lost. A number of wonderful photographs have been used to illustrate the points being discussed. I give a massive thank you to all the photographers, both known and unknown.
