Using The Weapons God Has Given Us

The message today is from the book of James, the half-brother of the Lord Jesus. Here James speaks of the those who are sick and the power in prayer to heal them. This is an encouraging message, giving hope to those in afflictions and pains. In this fallen world we will go through times of distress, and some of that is sickness. However, we as children of God do not ever need to be in despair and hopelessness of our situation. Our God is omnipotent, and has full control over all things. So sickness is fully under his command and dominion. We can pray to Him and He can heal us. This is our hope and encouragement, that our God is fully able to do what is impossible with the world. James gives us guidelines to praying for healing, the most important aspect of which is a right relationship with God. Such a proper relationship puts one in position where prayers will be answered with deliverance. This is the position the "elders" spoken of had. This relationship must be fervently maintained by daily devotion and communication with God. A right relationship with God follows His commands and lives as He desires. The power of the prayers of a person in such a relationship becomes evident in bringing about healing through the power of God.
