Enjoy this portion of the Maze Loop Trail in Joshua Tree National Park, beginning from the trailhead along Park Blvd and heading east and continuing on to the North Side Trail. The Maze Loop Trail is a 5 mi loop with only 400 ft of elevation gain. The hike starts in a sandy wash, but eventually leads to solid ground. Along the way, the trail is lined with rocks to help hikers stay on trail and not get lost. Almost no shade exists on this trail so make sure you are prepared for the sun if you take on this trail.
